Supporting the SSP Middle School Program
                                                               
From 1999 to 2007, Society for Science & the Public partnered with Discovery Communications, Inc. on the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge.  This annual competition enabled middle school students throughout the United States to participate in a national science competition.

Discovery Communications, Inc. is the world's largest originator of documentary programming and one of the largest science, knowledge, and learning content providers in the world. As the parent company of the popular Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, and the Travel Channel; Discovery Communications, Inc. is dedicated to the appreciation of science through all of its various networks. Discovery Communications, Inc. is also a strong advocate of science fairs and science education through its Discovery Education and Discovery School programming.
